A Healthy Church Is An Embassy of Heaven (Revelation 2:12-17)

Phill Howell, March 12, 2017
Part of the Jesus' Marks of a Healthy Church series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Sermon Outline:

1. The church is an Embassy of heaven here on earth.

God's plan is for there to be Embassy's all over the earth in every place, even the hardest places.

2. The church is an Embassy that is distinct and set apart from the earth because it is from heaven.

The church must be holy and set apart from the world. The church is not perfect and completely free from sin, but the church is repentant and pursues holiness.

3. The church is an Embassy that exercises the keys of the kingdom through the word of God.

Jesus gives us authority to make disciples as well as bind and loose citizens in his kingdom. We have that authority not through force and the sword, but through God's word.
