HIS Sign of Salvation

Acts: Our Church HIStory

Preached by: Phill Howell | 1/25/26

Scripture/Text: Acts 15:1-12; This week we explore Acts 15:1-12 and begin studing a chapter that is bookended by conflict. Yet, God's word produced Spirit-filled unity in both Jerusalem and Antioch. Sadly and ironically, one of the greatest stories of reconciliation between Jewish and Gentile Christians has become source material for more debates and divisions. It does not have to be this way! This wonderful passage of scritpure can unite the members of Christ's Church. Which is why this sermon emphasizes that God's Word unites God's people: (1) on the same ethical path; (2) for the same calling and purpose of dwelling with God in holiness; and (3) by the same power of faith in the cleansing blood of Jesus.

Sermon Outline:

God's word unites God's people…

1. On the Same Path
2. For the Same Purpose
3. By the Same Power
